Cisco TMS Replacement. We Have the Answers.
We have been warning for some time that Cisco TMS is approaching end of life, most recently in an article published in 2025. Now, with Cisco TMS reaching end of support in January 2027, the time to plan your migration is here, and we have both the answer and the solution.
As a Cisco Partner, Mividas has offered a proven replacement for Cisco TMS since 2019. Our solution has been running in production environments with customers since early 2019.
Over the past seven years, we have continuously refined the product, adding features and improving the user experience to make Mividas one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly replacements for Cisco TMS.
Today, a large number of customers around the world have already chosen Mividas as they migrate away from Cisco TMS. Along the way, we regularly receive questions about the migration, the capabilities of the platform, and how Mividas compares with other alternatives. We answer the most common questions below.
What is required to migrate to Mividas?
Replacing a long-established system can feel like a major undertaking for any organization. With Cisco TMS, however, the migration to Mividas is relatively straightforward, with a low level of risk.
The basic steps required to get up and running are simple:
- Install Mividas on a virtual machine within your network.
- Export your existing systems from Cisco TMS and import them into Mividas.
- Configure directory services and address books in Mividas.
- Provision your systems to subscribe to live events and use Mividas Rooms as their directory service.
During the migration, your systems can remain active in both Mividas Rooms and Cisco TMS. This allows you to migrate at your own pace, without downtime or unnecessary pressure.
Can’t we just use Webex Control Hub?
Cisco’s own solution for managing video conferencing systems, Control Hub, is cloud-based. The customers we primarily serve often have strict security requirements where cloud services are not an option.
Mividas is designed to run entirely on-premises, including in fully air-gapped environments with no internet access. This makes our solution particularly well suited for customers in government, defense, healthcare, judicial, education, and enterprise environments.
At the same time, we understand that organizations have different requirements. Some operate entirely in the cloud, some are fully air-gapped, and many have environments somewhere in between. That’s why Mividas also supports the management of Webex-registered devices, allowing cloud and on-premises systems to be managed from a single platform.
This also provides an additional layer of resilience: your systems can continue to be managed through Mividas even if access to Webex Control Hub is temporarily unavailable.
Cisco has done an excellent job making Control Hub intuitive and providing useful insights into the environment. We closely follow the development of Webex Control Hub and aim to bring the same level of simplicity to Mividas, so that Cisco customers will immediately feel at home.
We use CUCM. Do we need anything else?
Yes. CUCM does not provide many of the capabilities available in Cisco TMS.
CUCM is primarily focused on telephony and call management, while Cisco TMS is designed around the administration, management, scheduling, and provisioning of video conferencing systems and meeting rooms.
Many of our customers therefore use CUCM together with Mividas. Mividas also provides integration with CUCM, allowing systems and information to be synchronized from CUCM into Mividas and reducing the amount of manual administration required.
Can Mividas manage macros for my devices?
Yes. Macro management is one of the areas where Mividas goes beyond what was available in Cisco TMS.
Mividas provides centralized macro management, allowing all your macros to be stored and managed in one place. But we have taken this a step further by introducing support for dynamic variables.
Consider a simple example: a support macro containing a phone number. If an organization has multiple locations with different support numbers, traditional macro management would require separate macros for each location. As the number of locations grows, this can quickly become difficult to manage.
With dynamic variables, you can create a single macro and have the phone number automatically determined based on the configuration of the individual system.
This makes macros easier to maintain, reduces duplication, and allows the same macro to be deployed across your entire environment.
How are systems configured through Mividas?
For both configuration and commands, we have aimed to follow the way Cisco presents system management through the device’s own web interface.
This means that when provisioning and configuring systems through Mividas, the interface and concepts will feel familiar to Cisco administrators.
Mividas also supports configuration templates, model-specific baseline settings, and reporting on system configurations.
Configuration and provisioning have been major areas of focus throughout our product development, and this is something customers will notice when using the platform.
Mividas is not simply a replacement for Cisco TMS. It provides the familiar capabilities you expect from Cisco TMS, combined with a significant amount of additional functionality designed to make managing your video environment easier, more consistent, and more efficient.
Can we use Mividas without Cisco Meeting Server or Pexip Infinity?
Yes.
Mividas can be used purely as a management platform for your conferencing systems.
If your organization also uses Cisco Meeting Server or Pexip Infinity, these platforms can be integrated with Mividas as an additional component, enabling meeting scheduling and conferencing capabilities in your on-premises environment.
What happens to One Button to Push?
You still get One Button to Push (OBTP).
OBTP is often a critical part of providing the simple “Join” experience on a room system when a meeting is about to start.
Mividas provides true Microsoft Exchange integration using both Microsoft EWS (Exchange Web Services) and the newer Microsoft Graph API for Microsoft 365. This ensures that recurring meetings, updates, and changes are correctly reflected on your Cisco Webex room devices.
How do we schedule meetings?
If meeting scheduling is required, Mividas provides both an Outlook add-in and a web-based scheduling portal.
End users can easily schedule meetings and, for example, select a Cisco Meeting Server conference. They can then specify which meeting rooms or systems should be called when the meeting starts.
One of Mividas’ latest innovations is the ability to create ad-hoc meetings directly from the room panel.

Mividas enhances security by verifying the identity of the person scheduling the meeting, ensuring that only authorized users can create and manage meeting resources.
The process is simple:
- The user selects the sign-in option on the Room Navigator.
- The user authenticates either by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen or by navigating to the sign-in URL and entering the code shown.
- Once authenticated, the user can schedule an ad-hoc meeting directly from the room panel.
- The meeting is linked to the user’s account, providing clear control, traceability, and accountability.
